Yep lovely fly. Wow I haven't fished a team of spiders in years! I must fish some more trout streams again this year.

I must admit that I don't think I've ever caught any big on a traditionally fished team of spiders, but when the action is slow, it's just great fun and really effective.
I've big ones by casting one spider a rising fish when I've been unable to identify the fish's menu :-)

Are you on your iphone? I also like to drop a spider off the back of a dry sometimes.

Very nice fly Lars. It's one of my favourites. I managed to get some primrose Pearsall's Gossamer a few years ago and some waterhen wings from someone selling off a set of materials. I haven't ever properly fished a team of spiders in a river, but I have caught a few fish in lakes on Waterhen Bloas, Patridge & Orange and Black Spiders. Sometimes it's been through pulling a couple of flies but more often casting to cruising or rising fish. North Country wets are my favourite form of traditional fly and also the ones I like to tie "properly".

Jo
