An old Orvis Superfine

Hi,

I have an opportunity to buy an Orvis Superfine Tippet from 1988. It's a 3 weight, 7½ feet long, made of carbon and custom built. The seller says it is very soft. I have a Superfine from 2012 and I wouldn't say it is very soft. Not wet noodle soft.

Anyone here who remembers what Superfine was like back then? The seller asks for roughly 120 euros/£100. Is it worth a try?

Cheers, Massew

The distance boys on here will hate it and call it a noodle, which is a good reason to buy it :p . Seems pricey though

Haha, I'm a semi-distant boy myself but I don't mind spaghetti action at very short distances.

Yes, a bit pricey for a 28 year old rod that an amateur has built. I think I'll pass it up.

I have 8ft #2 supafine touch that I built myself, great for small streams. You can buy the blanks from Mudhole:

James got 70 something feet out of it. He'll correct me in a minute because I usually take 5 ft off his distance :p
