Hi.... the sliding band on the above rod won't accept a Hardy Flyweight reel, is there anything that can be done to either the seat or reel? The two make a sweet pair, would love to fish them together.
Thanks,
Andy

I was hoping for a more subtle, less compromising solution Jeroen - but it's a good start!

No idea about this particular rod and reel, but I have switched out reel feet a time or two. Mostly it's just a case of finding a replacement foot that can be made to fit the existing reel and then attacking it with tools. Is it an old reel from before the days of standard fly reel foot sizing?

hi Andy,
if you want a temporary solution that works very well get some rubber O-rings (2-3) slide them over the rod's butt end to take the place of the sliding band.
cheers,
marc

Now I see the logic Jeroen... thanks!
Thanks Nick & Marc - seems the foot on the newer Flyweight reels are a touch heavier than my old 1982 model, and this actually makes all the difference....
THANKS again all. Andy
