hi,
does anybody know if there is a good summary of different guides (materials, shapes,...) used in rodbuilding and there advantages and disadvantages on the web? or maybe someone could be so nice and explain the differences to me? :)
cheers

Not that I know of, Stefan, but it would make for an excellent discussion
It's an exploration; bring a flyrod.

Guide characteristics are hard to find on the web. To me the most important thing is their weight since it influences the behavior of the rod, especially on the tip. Stripping guides have no importance in this aspect of things, but the tip top has a large influence on the rod.
