I used old clear 10wt a.i.r.f.l.o tarpon intermediate (don't know if it is 10wt or heavier in reality) and Rio leviathan DC 500gr.
On field (with different tops thou) I tried everything from 9wt to 550gr leviathan.

Well, they are not stiff. But they are 7'11" and 8'3" long. As on heavier rods the flimsy tips are IMO pretty much futile..

A bit of bending in the glass part. The carbon fiber part stay almost straight when putting a bit more pressure on the rod (not even close to its limits).

A modified rod to cast heavier lines (only the butt section stays the same in this modular system) at work. Initially a bit over 6kg of drag, then over 8kg.
