You know as well as I do that it is harder to hit a ring than a target. But yeah I hope to actually redeem myself one of these times. Nerves in this one is a killer. A popper seems to help however.

I've been playing rather a lot of pool in the evenings, while thinking about accuracy casting of course. It's amazing how important it is to look at the centre of the pocket (ok sometimes we pick a corner of course) but if you don't pick a point then you so often miss, but by picking the very centre the shot is very much better.
But you see the same thing in flycasting. If instead of rings they were leaves floating around then we would have very much closer results. It really is mind over matter, which is bloody hard under the pressure of such an important competition. I'm nowhere near in the same league as the Norwegians or Americans, but they all struggle too. Those guys in practise just don't miss!
