Old battered reels required!

Hi guys,

if anyone has any old reels that they don't use, I am very much in need of them. I'm sure that we can figure out some new fly line for reel deals. They don't need to look pretty and the drag is irrelevant. The only thing that I don't want is reels that self wind when casting - this is a huge flaw in reel design and I would rather continue to swap fly lines by hand than use such an annoying reel :pirate: If I could get 20 battered reels I would be very happy :yeahhh:

I bought Ashly a lovely Ross Reel for Ashly's Christmas present, but I would rather buy 20 Rimfly reels for myself, and I would if they were still available!

Cheers, Paul

Comp lines and fishing lines. I have about 7 working reels at the moment and it's simply not enough. I'm sure that lots of you will have old reels that you no longer use. I don't have any old reels because I break them :)

I was fishing with An earlier in the week and I was surprised that every time he changed rod he put a neoprene protective cover on the reel. I've never done this in my life, and I certainly wouldn't do here where the time removing it could be the difference between getting a shot away in time and not. But it made me realise that I'm different, for not only do I not put protective covers on the reels when not fishing, but I also leave them outdoors, drop them, get them locked with saltwater, and just generally treat them as if they were rocks and not machined pieces of engineering.

I'm not going to change however. Being perfect is not one of my goals.

Cheers, Paul

Feet, handles, rims, back plate, drag - all broken at some point. I just have to look at a reel and it explodes.
