What line did Mel Krieger use?
Hello all,
I'm sure one of you must know! I asked his wife the other day, and she isn't sure.
I was wondering if anyone could tell me what white line Mel Krieger used throughout his career?
All the best!
Nick

I don't know, and if anyone does, I think it's Christopher Rownes. I'll ask him and send him a link to this thread.

When I had the pleasure of meeting Mel in Germany, he was using an orange wulff TT line.

Re: What line did Mel Krieger use?
Hi All,
Just to follow up on this (as somebody might be searching for the answer) i found out the Mel used a scientific anglers ultra 2 WF in white. His rod for his original video was a white 9' graphite rod designed by jim green for fenwick.
Hope this helps someone!
All the best

Re: What line did Mel Krieger use?
The original Redington DFR rods had a lot of input from Mel. I say original because within a year or two they were completely different and rather crap, but the first ones were excellent. Fast but load deep, similar to an IMX or an HT for that matter

Re: What line did Mel Krieger use?
I actually met Mel a bunch of times although Chris spent a hell of a lot more time with him. Here is when he visited the UK - I was working for Guide Fly Fishing at the time and Mel was with Redington...

I think that’s us down in Hampshire! He really didn’t get on with some of the APGAI lads. In his demo he said “you don’t need these guys; you just need to practise” That went down like a lead balloon
