Re: The problem with lines
Nic, how many lines do you know of, that has that sacrificial bit of level line at the tip?
Cheers

Re: The problem with lines
Hi Lasse,
Not many post welded loops but i have a lot of old lines that have them. A few new ones, Barrio GT125, GT90, Mallard, Ballistic pro performance series, Pauls thunderbolt 5 and 6, old cortlands and SA lines. Haven't measured Pauls DT yet.
I think modern lines with factory welded loops are made with the 6" level tip, i'll have to measure some new MED's, Rio's etc.
All the best!

The two new SA standards and single SA Amplitude Bonefish I have are level until the printed label.......about 12" from the back of the weld.
Interestingly the SA infinity salt has only about 6" of level line from the weld.

Re: The problem with lines
According to Simon Gawesworth at RIO, it's industry custom and practice - I think he called it 'tradition' - to have a 6" level section in front of the taper. But there's nothing to stop people doing other things.
