Vince, i replaced my very nice hardy ultralite carbon prime dry fly rod /68g for a 8'6/ for a grass rod and didnt look back. i would keep the hardy too but i'm not a rod colector and coudnt get much use for every rod i got so the hardy had to go. Grass is fun it cant be duplicated by glass or graphite and the looks and the feel are lovely. My main criterias for fly rods are very simple : 1/ good looking 2/ good looking 3/physical abilities that make it good to fight properly certain type of fush and propel certain type of flies 4/ its sexyloops so there is no No4 :D .
Thats it ! :D I'm choosing my rod by feeling it in my hand not by casting. :ninja: for small streams grass is great if you can keep it away from overhanging trees :)

Unfortunately, we have a lot overhanging trees and steep banks from the winter spates so I need something that will survive getting bashed about. Taking my 8ft #2 supafine out is a drama. I'm also a real hoarder, I've got rods that I bought 40 years ago
