I don't know whether to feel sorry for you Paul or jealous! Hopefully Sri will become the bum you want and journey with you on your adventures. But can she?? Only you and Sri can know.....

Hi Paul,
I made the same experience about the huge difference when having significant more time than just the usual 1 - 3 weeks for a fishing trip. I have been hosting a lot of fly fishing trips and I always spent a huge part of my energy to do my best in getting everyone into the holiday mood as fast as possible. Most people need at least one full day before saying something like: "I have arrived now." Also many people start packaging their stuff a full day in advance. Mind seems drifting back into the job life. Tough, I think. One has 7 days and 2 are kind of gone for not getting one's mind of the job world.
And then there is this pressure to only have short time to make the fish happen.
That is why as a host I love those trips in which we all catch a lot of fish in the first two days.
Hi Glenda,
I think you have a proper position living in a men's world.
Cheers
Bernd

It's a different world, Bernd: you're talking about a 7-day escape where I've jumped to a world where there is no going back. I agree with your experience of a week away; I've seen similar. Many 7 day fishing trips have a day travelling either side and so cope with this phenomena rather well. Week long holidays are rather fun!
Cheers, Paul
