Re: FFI CI exam Tailing loops
Everyone has their own motives of course. For you it might not add anything.
I am trying to build a team of excellent fly casters and to get there we need good instructors.
We decided that Fly Casting Sport NL, besides competition casting, will also focus on instruction. And I would like it to be top notch.
To prevent discussions about who will be allowed to teach and who not, it was decided that you should be certified (any organization of your choosing).
This way I hope we can assure a minimum amount of knowledge/skill from our instructors.
Cheers, Bart

It should, we did the same when we started Copenhagen fly casting club, only certified Instructors teach.bartdezwaan wrote: ↑Mon Nov 25, 2019 12:34 pm This way I hope we can assure a minimum amount of knowledge/skill from our instructors.

Let’s not put a crate of beer on it
Tournament coaching is different to teaching beginners or intermediates or even instructors.

Re: FFI CI exam Tailing loops
@Graeme Thanks
@Paul I don't expect it to be the same. But will still need people with the skills to instruct/coach right?
Else I would just look for the best distance casters around and let them teach. I am quit sure that is not going to work out,
Cheers, Bart

And yeah, tournament casting is a completely different ball game
Unless you already have a whole batalion of tournament casters, you'll end up with having to first go through beginners, intermediate, advanced, instructor levels to have a pool of talent anyway. And if the goal is to keep recruiting, you have to keep that going too...

There are quite a few discussions back in around 2004, Gary!

Edit - that’s not a very good link. I’ll find another!
I think it popped up around here anyway...
