Hi all,
I was wondering what leader configurations you use when teaching students? I know that a poor leader design can cause wind knots even if people are throwing (what seem) wide loops. I currently use a Rio 9' tapered leader and about 4' of 10 odd pound tippet for practicing, and a bit of glow bug yarn that is about as big as my thumb nail
Thanks!

I use a 9' 0X leader and don't add any tippet.

I make them with cheap nylon, 0,5 0,4 and 0,3 mm and go by the 40/30/30 or 60/20/20 formular. And then a piece of fluff at the end. 9-10 feet normally.
Cheers

I use RIO Powerflex Trout leaders: 3-pack, knotless tapered 7.5 or 9', 1x or 2x. Change out tippet when needed. Hot pink yarn for fly.
Happy Spring!

Funny if I google “Memento Piscantur Saepe” this post comes up second. Is that the same for everyone? Just thinking about the Google algorithms here
