Latter two don't count as variables....
That's why I discuss it...

Cheers

Why are they not variables? (discussing!)

D vs V is not a bad discussion. As Lasse points out it can be controlled by tip path. I'm unconvinced that's the only variable.

Cheers, Paul

App!? I'll have to ask a millenial... I still have a normal phone and use my typewriter to surf the interwebs...

I´m not as sharp as you guys on analyzing... however I can produce a V-loop with a certain tip path; it gets easier with more velocity/acceleration, but that's not a necessity. However, it could easily be I´m doing more (your variables...) than I actually realize... Well I hope there is more to it than I think, because that would mean, albeit unconsciously, I've mastered to control all those variables :upside:

Don't worry about the APP! All the videos will be appearing in this Video section eventually :)

I´m just fucking around - I've heard of the app (of course) - people say it's the best teaching/learning tool...

Out of curiosity: why giving it to the 'public' for free now?

That's why I didn't discuss it :p

Hi Paul

You can't make V loop out of a D with pullback/reverse torque or vice versa
You can make both D and V loops with any type of rod regardless of material.

Btw. I'm talking about true D and V loops, not the optic illusions ;)

Explaination video please!

Ah I see (app and videos). I'll watch them and won't buy the app! :p Will buy an HT to make up for it in the near future tho!

I considered charging for access and discussed it with Flavio who was fishing with me for a couple of months this year. After very long thoughts on the subject I decided that it would be best for Sexyloops to give it all away. It's been almost 19 years since I wrote the flycasting manual. I see this having a similarly good effect.

Of course you can go from round to ponted; Lasse; the point runs down from the rod tip.

Incidentally partly because of this we have new Board registrations. Discussion forums really suffer because of Facebook crap. We are building a new group of forum members who want to discuss fly fishing and casting, to a high level, and not what they had for breakfast. When they post for the first time please welcome them. I know you are all people persons like I am - at least those of you who I know personally. Please welcome these guys as you too would like to be welcomed. The Board has always attracted some really excellent people.

Many thanks,
Paul
