Hi,
Is there a way to get rid of the dolphin-nosed loops? I hate them. They look awful.

What do you mean with dolphin nose loops?
Are they rounded like most loops?
Maybe have a picture or video that could make it clear to me?

Hi Thomas. Thanks for that.
Is the small dip in the top leg also a characteristic when calling it a dolphin nose? Or just the wedge shaped loop?
The dip is actually a small tailing loop. But it is the wedge shape you are referring to, correct?
That seems like an efficient loop to throw. What are you looking for? Pointy loops?

Thomas, I looked into some old topics and see that the dip is a characteristic of the dolphin nose.
I wasn't aware that this particular thing had a name. It's not just a tailing loop a guess.
Never really thought about this thing, so can't help you at the moment. Sorry

Thomas, have you seen Aitor's video on the topic?
The caption is:

What if the mystery behind the dolphin nose had to do with the loop diameter imposing too small a turning radius for the line's flexibility?

Hi Andrew
Then it should be harder to get in lines that are more flexible right?
It's quite easy to get a dolphin shape in yarn, chenille and other threads that are much softer than a flyline.
On the other hand, a larger loop front usually gets rid of the shape, so does higher topleg speed....
Cheers
