Essential Level Challenge

I'm sure that lots of people have had the idea. I had it while learning to dive in 2000 in Thailand. Since then at least four other people have had the idea and mentioned it to me themselves. It's obviously just something waiting to happen. I've got fed up waiting and talking about it, and TimK's been pushing me pretty hard to set it up, and so here we are.

I don't doubt that there will be other casting certifications - now. But what I will do is to create a clear path for fly fishers who wish to take their casting to Intermediate level and then give them a clear definable route to Elite Level.

I want to get rid of all the stuffiness too. There won't be room for elitism at the Elite Level

Cheers, Paul

PS I'll try to find the book!

Here’s a question. “Challenge” or “Competency”? It’s been suggested that challenge sounds too much like a competition. Even although in my language it sounds like setting yourself a goal.

Anyway would love some feedback on this!!

Thanks, Paul

Non native english speaker here, I would go for challenge, competency sounds old, boring and definetly not sexy.

So you should definetly go for competency :p

Cheers

Flycasting, so simple that instructors need to make it complicated since 1685

Got a Q++ at casting school, wearing shorts ;)

As a non native speaker a find competency a bit annoying to pronounce.

As a native speaker competency seems like something that a stuffy government office would produce... such as in the driving test.... challenge sounds more fun
