A very interesting read from Andy today on Intention http://www.sexyloops.com/index.php/ps/intention

This makes me immediately think of delayed rotation. I’m not even sure that it’s desirable to save all the rotation until the very end of the Casting Stroke, but that’s certainly what I strive to do when distance casting.

I’m not sure it makes any difference.

I’d guess it depends on the individuals personality... some will like the challenge, some resigned to it being impossible and be defeated before they even try...
but the latter probably won’t ever be aiming for excellence so it’s a bit of a moot point!

Hi Matt, I would have thought that most people going for an hour lesson are looking to achieve competence rather than excellence. If I wind the clock back 5 years and I was dipping my hand in my wallet, I think I would be a bit miffed if I was being asked to achieve the impossible. It would be an easier sell if you didn’t know it was impossible.

I think Andy’s FP has to do with excellence, not competence.
