Re: Grip shift
It’s stopless and happens in the same way that the backcast opens. The thumb simply pushes over.

You'll need to show me how you're doing it then. (One more thing for the list of lessons ... )

Re: Grip shift
Here is a video of Fredrik shifting grips. It’s sort of a key grip on the backcast and thumb on top going forward.
I still use this sometimes when I struggle with my forward cast tracking.

Re: Grip shift
Nice video, Magnus. I sometimes switch to finger pointing on the backcast when I'm struggling with backcast tracking.

Re: Grip shift
Thanks... that clears things up quite a bit!
I need to work on that cradle grip... and get to it while the back cast is unrolling. That timing is where I have been going wrong.
I think I have been maintaining my hand during the back cast and rotating during the forward translation, instead of the cradle before translation. That results in sort of a torque twist and I have no fingers to close. I think it is because I use curve casts so often.
Something to practice tomorrow...
