High speed videos

#1

Post by grunde »

Time flies, it's almost scary :p

In February 2005 I was involved in shooting some high speed footage of flycasts, and the time is overdue to upload the videos to YouTube (or something like that). So here it almost all the videos recorded that crazy night.

Hope you'll enjoy it! :pirate:

Cheers,
Grunde

Thanks Grunde. That’s awesome. At first I only thought there was one but now I can see many more! Thanks I’ll watch these from my laptop and pass on the link. :pirate:

Was there anything that surprised you at the time?

Cheers, Paul

Happy you like it Paul.

I think what surprised me most at the time was how small the visible difference between the TCR and Paradigme was for the short casts. If I remember correctly the difference in deflection between the two was around 10cm (from the top of my head 90cm for the TCR and 100cm for the Paradigme). Also the shape of the rods during the cast, the unload time and the "produced" linespeeds of the two was very similar. And (especially for Mathias who is a machine) the casting stroke (angular velocity profile) for the two rods was also very much "the same".

The difference was more pronounced for the loger casts...

Cheers,
Grunde

Thnaks very much for sharing those Grunde. They are wonderful.

I love how Mathias is able to damp the counterflexes so effectively.

Cheers,
Graeme
