Casting comp & mental preparation

Eeeeehhhh.
Even the fact that I won doesnt make me feel good. I know I fucked it up
I did throw 105' :( . we were casting 6wt line, from the platform0.5m and slight tail wind. Perfect line, and conditions and I maneged to fuck it up. This is why I asked the question on the board because during my practise things are much better, and Im not talking about one or two odd casts. I have constant results that satisfy me.
My own casting club, I thing its going to be easier then the Italian casting championship. Ive benn inspired by Hungarians, and start pulling strings again, but nothing is happening.

Casting in public that is for sure, Im going to attend few Italian show this year and do my best in front of many
cheers

Make sure you don't carry too much line and maybe try making the first cast straight with only 90% effort. But yes it sounds to me like you have to take every opportunity to cast in public. Have you considered casting in the middle of Venice? :)

PS. I have a flying tank. Your argument is irrelevant.

PSS. How to generate a climbing loop through control of the casting stroke is left as a (considerable) exercise to the reader.

Yeah right,d
when I talk in the local fly fishing club about distance casting they look at like (hey mate dont bother), so If come in the middle of Venice for a cast I might be arested.
BTW, I think I found the name for my future casting club. Maybe one day I will do my Masters, so to keep myself ready for it I'll name the club MCCI - Mike Casting Club Italy :p

Yes but think how cool that would be to be arrested for casting in Piazza San Marco. If I come for a visit we'll do this :pirate:

Two "sexy guys" with sexy Hot Torpedos in their hands ,casting sexy loops, in a sexy italian place.
After that you wont need any other reviews of your rods, and the money after the next sold one we'll use to get us out of jail.

For me being busy before my turn has been good for me.
Additionally competing enough has made the bad jitters go away (I used to have bad ones in spey). I still have some, but more in a good sense.

I don't try to concentrate - I just go out and cast.
I'm here just for the chicks.
