WC Accuracy Rules

I just like to think we're all on a level playing field, Lasse, and it's skill that wins, not pushing the boundaries of the rules! The problem I have with coloured leaders is that we don't fish with coloured leaders and so it's one jump away from fishing tackle. Having said that I wasn't happy with the move to stiffer and stiffer rods but have adapted now. I'll go with whatever the majority of competitors decide and if that means day-glo leaders then so be it. We'll still get our arses kicked by the Yanks.

Hi Paul, I fished with that leader in gacka with you, only difference was the tippet, and if we had stopped fishing when you had just one fish, I had you beaten 7-1...
I very very very very rarely fish from a floating bridge, if we are talking about moving from fishing, I rarely use 27 gram floating shootingheads on a singelhander, and if, them they are about half as long as the ones we use in comp. 55 gram overhead? 80 gram in 15 foot spey, wont even mention 18....

I'm still very much in favor of all events cast standing knee deep in water. At least then we are closer to fishing than to javelin throwing... And I can argue the heavy gear away with technique and long casts ;)
And stiffer rods, the moment thats the deciding factor, I'll go along, since it doesn't throw further, then what ever floats your boat.

As the yanks pretty much have nailed, the best practiced wins, not the one with the stiffest rod or the rainbow leader :pirate:

Practice is the ultimate cheat!

Cheers

When did we fish the Gacka, together?

Look dude, don't take any offence. I only said it feels like cheating when I do it. If I was to beat someone like Steve or Chris with a coloured leader then I wouldn't feel that it was a fair win.

The only point of rules I believe should be fairness. Maybe we will all end up casting fluorescent leaders, in which case that will be fair. But I would rather that didn't happen because it distances once again ourselves from those anglers who think fly casting competition is divorced from fly casting for fish.

Cheers, Paul

Man, we fished it together after Serbia...

And its ok, I'll remember to use a clear leader when I beat Steve or Chris :p

And the fishermen cares less about a coloured leader, and more about not being in water, using techniques that wouldn't work on a slippery stone or in a dingy etc. with lines too heavy for normal gear..... Actually, they don't care at all, there's no fish involved, and we know those competing can't catch fish anyway :D

My fish must have been very big then.

Curiously all my fishing at the moment is the same height as the platforms but the rings need to be quarter the size and the time limit for four circuits no more than 45 seconds. To make it more realistic the sequence has to be random.

I think you would like it here!

Cheers, Paul

Don't make me find the pictures of your tiny fish :D

I would be perfectly ok with having all competitors cast from a tiny anchored dingy, camoflage optionel :D

I'm sure I would :)

I won the BFCC accuracy competition today :yeahhh: , however whilst there I thought of another way to 'cheat'. What if i were to start by tying the leader up into a knot, so the fly is carried pretty much at the end of the fly line. I can't see anything in the rules against it :ninja:

There's nothing in the rules that says we can't throw you in either, James.

James, two things, what is the thickness of your mimimum 40 cm tippet then?
And how long is that knot?

These are covered in the rules...

We'll still throw you in though, last time sort of started a tradition with Paul :p
