For the #7 are you using a 10wt with a MED7? (like you do for the #5)

Haven’t seen you since that AAPGAI meet in Cear Berris
Daniel, again it will be great to catch up if you can make it!

#5 (MED) - 131ft 3in - slightly too windy for me today, didn't feel I hooked up with a good back-cast.
#7 - 140ft 3in - a bit disappointed with this, I'd have been happier with nearer 150 given the wind (I was stood in the wake of a big tree though :D )
ST27 - 150ft 3in - again disappointed - maybe selected the wrong line (the wind was between two head lengths for me)
S55g - 213ft 5in - above the BFCC record but felt a bit of a fluke on a lucky gust.

James, did you have a warm,up,andcthen set the timer for 4min for each event, or you recorded the longest casts from an hour long casting session?

I will have to do the same here, but not sure if it is flip flop go home, or have a beer and a smoko and then set the clock for a proper results.

Sounds silly, but I want to do this properly as comp should be...
Ciao

Hi Mike,

I had quite a long warm up ~30mins, followed by the four 4min marked sessions in quick succession.

We’re all good Daniel thank you, if you can make it I can’t promise you a massive competition at the moment, but what ever the numbers, it will be a fair one.
Cheers

My results from today, Tracy wasn't with me (she was sensible and stayed indoors) so for the #5 I measured 8 casts. The #7 and the ST27 are the best casts from an extended session.

#5 MED - 123ft 11in
#7 MED - 132ft 8in
ST27 - 163ft

It was pretty windy, so much so that I measured where my #7 carry fell apart and it was less than 80ft. So in these conditions I think I'm going to get beaten by a good 15ft or more - so I need to make a big improvement.

For the ST27 I went back to the outfit which I set my PB with. In the same sort of conditions a few years back I'd have been expecting a 170ft plus best, so I'm well off where I should be in this event also. A bit frustrated today :glare:

Hey James, I hope that you and Tracy come over and visit us next year! If we have a bit of extra time we can try to have a casting sport day in KL. It will be good for he lads to meet some more competitors. We can talk about it in a few weeks over beer
