I use them for Gourami with 20lb tippet and dryflies. The hook is the weakest point in the system, tippet next. I haven’t tried them for Snakehead yet :p However the bite wire will be the weak point, not the fly line :)

Hmmm loop clamps and water. Either you didn’t show me these or I have forgotten. No wonder it took me over an hour to make my first one.

Must have forgotten them Paul. I struggle to make them without water and a little bit of tension in the line the needle is piercing.

Actually I have done a little bit of splicing with Amsteel blue and Zing-It which are dyneema hollow braid. Here's some whoopie slings and soft shackles for lightweight hammock suspension.
