That makes two of us! :p

I want to practice those casts and don't want to make the learning curve harder it needs to be.

Hi mate,

I’ve used three different lines on this rod. A Tech Tarpon 10 from RIO a long belly version, an SA Redfish 9.5 and currently this is a SA Infinity Salt 9.5 prototype that they sent me.

I would make it as hard on yourself as possible and use a DT line with lots of silicone. Actually that’s not necessarily harder because it will assist in line control.

I had a problem when I first started with the Infinity that it was “getting away from me”. Two weeks later I’m starting to like it. I measured up some PUALD shooting shoots with a bonefish 8 (can’t remember if it was RÍO or SA, but the longer one). From 2m of line on the water I was casting to 25m (I think my longest was 27m but I’ll have to redo the test). Most Snakehead shots are positioned around 18m however and anything much over this takes too long to get there.

Cheers, Paul

Similar profile to the Infinity freshwater line? If so, I like the look of it.

Yeah last three weeks have been full on. But it’s a great job and I still feel that I’m fishing, it’s just harder! :D

Great fun actually and I’m free now for a bit
