Ah but you also get a stiffening of the rod with snakes compared to recoils!

The only way I can see doing it is to build the same blank twice and measure it each time. I think we will have to draw straws for that one :D

Just do it, because it doesn't sound logic, so not contend with drawing straws over it mate.
