Pretty well. Although I threw them a bit on the small side.
Which was strange, because I could throw them anyway I liked in practice.

I have two uses for tailing loops. One is to make a Curved Cast and the other is to make a Collapsed Cast. A bit more than 15 years ago on Sexyloops using tails to throw curves was quite popular on the Board. I don't know if anyone is still doing it, but if you make the change of plane smaller at the end of the Stroke, when you shock for the tail, then you can instead throw a nice controlled tail that collapses the leader/line end. This is often my preferred choice of cast when using a very heavy fly that also needs lots of slack.

So it's a good way of mastering tails because you are not simply demonstrating them but also controlling them. The problem with it is that when it comes to demonstrating tails it is not normally how people throw them by accident

I'm delighted you passed mate. My wife has been expressing an interest in taking the CCI so I'll train her up this summer!

Would love to see you join again Paul ;)
I know it is not all perfect, but they are at least trying to deliver good instructors.

Then don't focus on the bullshit.
I am going to try to arrange something like instructor workshops over here. No idea how yet.

Haha. I don't get involved into the politics, so likely get less frustrated about things.

Trump - 70 plus year old American. Grew up when the USA was booming: James Dean, electric food mixers, big cars, Europe was rebuilding itself after WW2 which also left the US pretty much untouched. He missed out on the 60s with free love and acid, because he was too old. This is why he thinks America was great when he was a teenager and why he has such a polarised view on the world - of course he lives in a wealth bubble as well. Quite disconnected from the rest of the world I’m sure you’ll agree.

I didn’t actually profile Trump however to get to this opinion; instead I profiled a past CICP president with whom I was having an argument at the time, who also happened to believe that Korea was a third-world country. :D

You could say “you can always vote someone else in!” but you can’t because it’s a non-democratic US-centric association.

After about 20 years of dealing with bollocks you get burn-out. Teaching fly fishing is not a hobby for me. It’s actually my profession.

So yep; drew a line under all of it :D The headache has long gone
