No, sorry. The line might be pinching somewhere. Lasse’s experience would suggest the tip ring. However I would expect that to result in rod breakage. So I really don’t know.

Nope, have a good look at a raised single leg snake ring, theres a reason they arent the hottest thing since sliced bread 🤣
The line gets stuck in the groove...

That has not happened to me with the single foot Fuji SiC guides I use. Perhaps they are not raised enough? (They do sit very close to the blank.)

Cheers,

There's no groove in a lined ring, unless its very very worn or chipped.

It seems like the raised single legs have gone from production, good ridance 🤣

For those not familiar with all the types of guides -- like me  -- this website might help.

Guides and blanks is a nice website to buy rod components from, but they only have a selection of whats out there, and no raised single legs, thankfully 🤣

Haven't found a good pic yet, but just imagine a normal single leg snake, then extend the wire from the eye to the foot by half a cm..... the natural groove at the bottom of the circle now sits half a cm away from the blank, and loves to hug flylines very tightly 😉

Cheers
Lasse

Well there you go. It’s rings and not the blank then. I just wonder now why it happens with a late haul and not an early haul. :D
