If I put together this team I'm going to secure sponsorship but that means we need to take medals.

Is there a proven link between gym work and distance? Does anyone actually know what exercises a distance caster should be doing? Until these questions are answered I think practice (amongst like minded individuals) and regular high level competition is the way to go - that, in itself, is going to be a challenge to organise.

Of course there's a proven link. It's called Norway and Sweden.

James

There is another level, trust me. Fredrick, Dimitri, Tor "the late 50 something Norwegian ex Javelin thrower/ 5# gold medalist" etc etc...

We went to Norway and witnessed it! Very obvious that they train and hard!, fair play to all of them....

Hi Lee,

I don't doubt that, it's a throwing event after all and athletic ability is going to play a big part once you're at the top of the game. I'm just pointing out that strength isn't my top priority at the moment - I've recently noticed a number of technical errors that have crept into my casting this year, I only spotted these after seeing some slo-mo of myself at a recent event. (Interestingly I went out and shot some more film and it appears I have a 'pactice' cast and a 'competition' cast - I'd like to swap the two over or better still get rid of one :glare: ). I'm sure that with a truly competitive and collaborative casting scene this would have been brought to my attention sooner.

A question to you and Paul, when you've been beaten in shoot-outs recently do you feel you've been 'out-muscled'?

Cheers, James
