No I havent. I think I started it! Winter running over there must be hard. I did it in Hungary but had to breathe through a scarf and the ice was treacherous!

I prefer cross country skiing over running in the winter. But this winter the conditions have not been good...

Have shoes with spikes, but running on ice is still not that fun. Therefore i go for the treadmill :-)

But now spring is around the corner and i look forward to long runs in the forest!

I find it hard to breathe in the winter and the freezing air hurts my lungs! I'd far rather run in the tropics. I looked at cross county skiing. That seems like real Manshit!

Dunno yet, but I'll run one (or maybe a couple more) half marathons this summer. Think I'll suck at shorter distances :-)

Great stuff, mate. 20Km is my favoured distance.

Mind you, while I've made it my training distance many times, I've never actually done a half in a race! I had a very disappointing marathon a couple of years ago, coming in just under 4 hrs. I used to run the distance under 3 hrs. My best 10K time was on the back of a Tri at 36m. I have no idea where I am at the moment however - I'm knocking over a run on a daily basis but haven't measured the distance. I think I'll take my phone out tomorrow and track it. I've been a bit hesitant to do this, because then every run starts to feel like a race and it all becomes less enjoyable. The best for me is when I have no plan, no schedule, just open tracks. This is when I run my best. So as soon as i measure this run, I'll have to find an alternative!

Here, just outside London really, I can run for miles and miles and never see another person and the only time I'm on tarmac is a couple of times to cross roads and the last kilometre which I floor!

Apparently some of these footpaths are thousands of years old. Certainly one of the bridle paths is very obviously Roman. How cool is that? In all the times I've run it, I've only ever seen two people there!

Cheers, Paul
