Strokes in Distance Casting
Hi
For some time I wanted to do this video (remember ro put hight qlt for a good view) in which I would describe few different casting strokes in distance fly casting.
As I mentioned in the video, there are some names behind the strokes, but luckly I did not name it as it looks a bit different( after watching it) from what I was thinking.
I hope you dont mind me talking a bit, but in my way it always cas to be an INTRO, BODY, CONCLUSION..
I watched a lot of videos and observed the strokes and body movements and almost everybody is different, but still getting the great results. Trying to find and master body set up that will suits you takes time.
Im battleing with the stands as well. Some time I hit my best with right foot forward, sometimes with right foot back, and every session is a decision whats best??
P.s
28°C + and burning sun is not a good time for practice
https://youtu.be/8yPOPnDDNds
I hope you like it and looking forward to all comments.
Cheers
Mike

Flycasting, so simple that instructors need to make it complicated since 1685
Got a Q++ at casting school, wearing shorts

Thank you Lasse
Lasse you won a Sexyloops sticker
1)Steve
2) Paul- very noticeble the quick punch on the end of the haul on the BC
3) not secure about it, but watching Sakari (WC2016)casting I noticed he moved his haul hand in an oval motion after the back cast
4) Tor- the way I see his stroke is like he is involving the entire body from top to bottom. I dont why but I got the feeling of pushing on the FC. When I tried it , it gave me very fast line speed, it seemed faster then all the others.
5) I dont know this caster, but on youtube chanel, he casts 44.6m with 5wt Rio Tournament line. This steping back and forward during casting looked interesting and I wanted to try it.
Making this type of videos stimulates and motivates me for further practice and it feels good when you can actually see what you can improve in your own casting.
Cheers

Ha Paul, then you know hos I feel since I can't watch your clips on my Phone anymore
Michal, you need a higher and more pronounced stop on the Steve BC, and a faster hjul.
I took your Paul for Fredrik Herman with that pronounced chest shove
The bloke on YouTube throwing the gold 44,6 is Bernt Johansson, he's done over 50 since then... He and Ulrik Røijezon throws similar, Ulrik holds the swedish record in 5 weight distance with 45,9 in competition, throws with the Rio gold.
And if the sticker is the first edition, I'll take it
Cheers

Whoa - you can't give him the sticker for getting the right people in the wrong order That's a bit like Eric Morcambe's piano planning - "all the right notes, but not necessarily in the right order"Michal Duzynski wrote:T

I had Paul as your second cast. I agree with Lasse, the one you need to work on is the Steve impression - perhaps stack on 100lb (mostly in your forearms )
Great job though - I could recognise them and could probably find the same videos that you've studied.

It's easy to come in afterwards and claim you had them right
Check out Fredrik Hedman and compare to Michal's Arden impression
The Arden one needs more wrist strength, later rotation, and snappy especially in the BC...

It's only a kin virtual sticker, I hope there's no presents without labels under your Xmas tree or it will really kick off during the season of goodwill
Great video Mike
