Hi Im not sure how much my post might be related to the original one, but we talking about jumprolls and I like it.
I started again on Italian forum, about the froller ( you remember, cast invented by italians)
I started it again, and asked why they dont want to admit, that this froller is just e variation of a roll cast and doesnt need new inveted name and being claimed as ITALIAN CAST FROLLER.
So took my dog for a walk and recorded few casts. 5wt MED. I had small front breeze and the casts went around 18-20m( after a cast I tight the line on the reel and measured it on the ground).
With a bit of tail breeze they would go further.
So I asked this question to Italians AM I FROLLING OR ROLLING THE LINE OF THE WATER?

I never fished with 4 flies and 20ft leader, but roll cast is a fantastic cast...

Yes 20m or a little more. We certainly measured Switch casts over 25m but I can’t remember all the numbers.

With 3 flies I’m expecting a serious reduction in distance but I would expect to get the head to turn over straigh without shooting line as a minimum.

We've had switchcasts in comp over 28 meters, but that is with 9 feet leader and fluff, and none of them would have gone with three or four flies and a 16 foot leader but it was also a 6 weight medium/long belly used.... And distance cast is never the same as line cast.

It’s quite possible that the same casts are “invented” in different places. I know for example that I invented the aerielised Snap-Lift Switch and Single Spey variants. But others - GF for example - claims the same but he forgot to tell anyone until 10 years later.

The Fully Aerielised Double-Snap-Lift Spiral-Snake-Cut Single Spey is most definitely one of mine because no one else would be so stupid as to claim it, let alone execute it

I find Spirals (Snakes) and Snaps fascinating. Particularly because you can glue them together, but also because you can snap Spirals. For example the aerielised Snap-lift Single Spey is exactly the same as the snapped Snake Roll, only that the directions (ie angle changes) are completely reversed. Basically it’s inosculation in the Spey family tree! In fact they all become a little bit interesting when you start aerielising them.

It's not really a new cast, if its just a combination of already named shit is it? If it is, then I just claim I invented the snap lift spiral v loop wiggle cast. And I'll take the snaplift snake roll pile cast, add the snap lift backhand snap c positive curve cast with a touch of magic....
