Today we had our first Dutch competition planned.
Unfortunately, due to frost, we could not use the reserved soccer field.
We decided to meet, on a public location, with a couple of guys. After lunch we where with 3 people left and decided we were going to do the "trout distance".
They where 4 min. timed rounds. There was a steady gentle breeze.
Results:

Bart de Zwaan 40.7m (133.5ft)
Jan Kwisthout 29.80 (97.8ft)
Richard Zijdeman 27.90m (91.5ft)

Today I suffered from the Evans syndrome. Since conditions where pretty good I am not satisfied at all with my casting.
It took me some more time to figure out what was wrong and, unfortunately, threw my best distances after the competition.
We had a great day!

Cheers, Bart

That’s great mate. Soon they’ll be kicking your arse! Did you get a chance to throw any other events?

Cheers, Paul

I am counting on it. :)
We did not throw anything else. Still need to build some rings.

Thanks James.
I am suprised it went that far.
Most of my backcasts where not straight and I was ticking a lot.

I ended up buying the same materials that Lee uses. And will build a similar frame too. I really wanted to submerge the frame in some way to make it invisible but I’m counting now on algae to do that!

133’ is an excellent cast mate. You’ve really taken a huge leap forward. Congratulations! I’m sure with regular meets you’ll hit top form consistently.

Have you planned your next meet yet? We have a huge one in a few weeks time here in Malaysia with an expected 30 competitors!

Cheers, Paul

Thanks Paul,
The big step forward makes me happy. But let's be honest, 133` is not going to win the WC with a descent wind.
I am going for nothing less than 140` now. I know I can do this. :D

The next meet is not planned yet. I am discussing three dates and locations.
For sure our next one will have a bigger competitor field. Around 8 people should be realistic.
30 competitors is huge! All Malaysian?

Cheers, Bart
