There is no fishing involved, but if you want to see what the mangrove backcountry of Everglades National Park looks like, this is a good one.

This is what I do, and where I go... except I always bring a flyrod!

Cool. What are the daylight hours there? Is there much difference between summer and winter time?

Cheers, Paul

Paul,

Daylight hours are from sunrise to sunset!

Just being a smart ass...

Winter we get about 10.5, whereas summer its about 14.

It seems to be quite different but since "they" screw around with the clocks every year for "daylight savings time", it is hard to really put a finger on it. Summers it stays light until after 8PM but in winter darkenss falls when I'm driving home from work after 5.

Ah ok you’re further from the equator than I thought. Here is 6.45-19.45 and 7-19.30 approx. No daylight savings of course

Did you originally use GPS to learn it or a map? I imagine like me you could pretty much map out the labyrinth by head nowadays. I also suppose you used a map :D (like me!).

Cheers, Paul

About 25 degrees N.

My earliest "learning" was by being allowed to go with my elders (uncle, father, and cousin).

When topo maps became available (or at least I became aware of them), it was all map and compass for quite a while. Got pretty damn lost a few times.

When GPS first came out I thought they were for sissies.

Today's technology takes all the fun out of it.

I think it’s probably much harder to memorise an area if you use GPS. With a map you are forced to know where you are at all times. I use them while driving consequently I have no idea of even the layout of Kuala Lumpur!
