Thanks for the video, Lasse. Hoping to see some more as time goes by. Henry is the one on the left, in the shorts?
Still so chuffed, John!

You're welcome Dirk! And yes, the other caster is Seppo from Sweden.

Damn! That is one explosive delivery stroke!Dirk le Roux wrote: ↑Fri Aug 26, 2022 8:18 am Thanks for the video, Lasse. Hoping to see some more as time goes by. Henry is the one on the left, in the shorts?
From waiting for the backcast to full body delivery with complete haul extension in a fraction of a second? Is that video at real speed?
I can't move that fast in my dreams!
With appreciation and apologies to Ray Charles…

Hi everybody!
I very much would like to see some casting by Maxine. Particularly her perfect round in accuracy. Did anybody here shoot it?
Cheers Thomas

Re: WC2022
Hi
Just a reflection/question after seeing reports from ICSF Casting WC, and thinking of some national fly casting comps.
Could you remind me -Why do we cast on the water with location hard to find and difficult to organise (water, bridges/pontoons/platforms,multi ropoes with multi different colour balls, boats for judges)and with this type of measuring system?
Is it because we have " fishing tackle" in the name, or is it because Spey Events?
Cheers
Mike

Re: WC2022
Both reasons, Mike. I remember these discussions coming up early on and one reason is to make it more like fishing and less like grass casting, from an outsider perspective. I personally like it, possibly because it’s quite rare to complete over water! But it has disadvantages too, particularly with regards accurate measuring and finding and setting up venues as you point out. It’s certainly better to watch.
Was there an announcer this time?
Cheers, Paul

Re: WC2022
Hi mate
After 10 years, I think we can ditch the fishing aspect, we are there to cast PURE distance, as far as we can.
Fly fisherman are actually laughing at as saying that nobody fish at those distances.
No announcing, result went through radio from belly boat to scoring board. Some casters had no idea how far they cast until after, either spectators.
Cheers
