Hi from Melbourne Australia

Hi all I'm Alan from Melbourne Australia, I've been fly fishing for 35+ years, and have done some tournament accuracy casting, not much good at distance yet, covid and caring for my wife have put a stop to these activities, hopefully I will get some help this year and turn this around, I have caught everything from Billfish to baby carp, but hope to return to competition casting first and foremost, watching Pauls youtube vids has given me some inspiration to try again.
Cheers Alan

Hi Alan, welcome to the Board  I’ve always enjoyed the Northern Suburbs flycasting location. I’ve had a few evenings there drinking beer and casting on the pool. :)

Cheers, Paul
It's an exploration; bring a flyrod.

Cheers John, can you tell me what the new events are, I'm hoping to start practising this winter to be ready for next year.

Hi Alan,

Where about in Melbourne are you? We have a group that gets together for a monthly casting day in Geelong. Next one locked in for 3rd June. If you are in our area a few of us get together most Monday afternoons too. Always looking for more people to join in the fun.

Cheers

Hi Alan, next one is June 3rd. We cast at Rippleside park from 10am to 3:30pm but you can come for as long or as little as you like. A few of us often cast on a Monday afternoon from about 4pm (during winter). I’ll be there this Monday unless the weather is off. I think you’ll find you know some of our group already. I’ll send you a direct message with my contact details.

Regards
Chris
