HELP NEEDED

#1

Post by Viking Lars »

It almost hurts, but I have to retire these scissors now. I have literally tied thousands of flies with them. I wish I could remember how long they lasted, but Anvil scissors are incredibly durable. I know I’ve used these for over 8 years 😳. Every where I found them, they are out of stock and for some reason, I can't even find Anvil's webpage.

Does anyone know where I can get a pair or three?

Thanks, Vince, but only Lakeland carries the offset pair and they’re out of stock.

Seems that Anvil is out of business.

Do you know the model # ? Are they the 40A?
A curved version is available on eBay.

My goodness Lars. I do hope you’re ok. :D If you can find them still in stock somewhere, then I’m sure we can use the Sexyloops network to get them to you. Might be a bit risky to stick them down trouser legs but where there’s a willy there’s a way.

Cheers, Paul
It's an exploration; bring a flyrod.

Hey Lars
Sorry, I can’t help with the anvil ones.
But if you can’t find them I recently replaced my scissors after grumbling about my old one for 12 months 😏
I went with renomed- they do a fly tying range, surgical and cosmetic.
Really impressed with them, feel nice in the hand, a very slight resistance as you close to cut, which I find helps with fine, controlled work.

I’m OK - I’m in therapy to deal with the situation 😉.

Thanks! I know the Renee scissors well and they are excellent, but for me, the clue is the offset rings. Maybe I should try contacting Renomed?
