550 Euros each to enter, plus another 550 each if we want to stay in the hotel. So Tracy and myself are looking at 2200 Euros before we factor in any traveling. So an estimated 3000 plus Euros for the whole thing for us - bearing in mind that we're quite close compared to some.
When a casting comp (albeit a great one) starts to cost the same sort of money as a Caribbean bonefishing trip, then we have to look hard at our priorities. Do the ICSF think that such fees are going to encourage people into the sport? Or are they blinded by the government funding that some countries get, forgetting that competitors from other countries have to stump up the entire cost?
For contrast the BFCC charges £20 for the whole year - 6 events (sometimes 7) each with 7 casting disciplines contested (not to mention the casting instruction offered).

Re: ICSF WC Flycasting Sweden 2024
I just wanted to wait for someone to start rolling the ball...
€550 in the hotel doesn't mention bfast, lunch and dinner. On the junior side it is €455 with 4 lunches, maybe bfast and dinner is DIY?
Many do 4 events
TD
STD
SALMON
ACCURACY
6 days for 17 minutes of casting, ok double that if you are in 4 finals, but still
...and not to be picky MED costs couple of Euros as well
Cheers

Norway was 10 Euros per event. Inflation these days is unreal!

Your friendly neighbourhood flyslinger
Flycasting, so simple that instructors need to make it complicated since 1685
Got a Q++ at casting school, wearing shorts

I don’t know. I know that Ashly most certainly won’t be entering accuracy for 500 quid, which takes some of the gloss off it for me.
Why is it so expensive this time?

“ Why is it so expensive this time?”
Perhaps the Swedish Federation are short of money
Do not forget the annual ICSF membership fee If it’s the only event your country / federation are compete in then you need to factor those charges in too
