Hi,
He is a legend among troutanglers and has written a couple of classic books and made som classic movies as well. One thing I find particularly inspiring about Joe is his level of fitness. He is 94 years old and still going strong fishing and catching trout.

Re: About Jerry Siems loop
Hi Bernd,
I really like Jerrys casting - smooth, elegant and compact. And I have had an issue with this angled flyleg myself. But now I know why this is happening. Thank you!
Cheers Thomas

Hi everybody and thanks for your answers.
George, I think you (or Berndt) are right. This seems to be a plausible explanation.

Re: About Jerry Siems loop
Hi Graeme,
I am just talking about the flyleg. Both legs starts out horizontal and straight. The rodleg stays horizontal and straight through out the whole cast but the flyleg does not. It is very visible around 2:05 i the video.
Cheers Thomas

About Jerry Siems loop
Hi everybody, I have been looking at Jerry Siems casting on Youtube. I have a question regarding the shape of his loop in the clip below. When the loop almost has unrolled completely, the flyleg is not horisontal. It is angled downwards. Why is this happening? https://youtu.be/PU0RygUECd0?t=120 Chee...

Re: When 10?
Hi Rickard!
I live in Gothenburg and would love to try out the rods. Particularly the 7. Nice to see another "Göteborgare" here by the way!

Re: Does line friction effect carry?
Hi, I find that an increase in friction reduce carry and distance in other ways as well. When there is a lot of friction hauling becomes less smooth. This affects the whole cast which loses "fluidity" and becomes increasingly "jerky". This loss of fluidity and smoothness increase...

Re: Hauling too late
Hi again and thank for your answers. When I try to haul absolutely as late as I possibly can, two things tend to happen: The first alternativ is what Paul talks about: "I suppose the most extreme thing you can do is pull the line in the rod leg of the loop, which will increase angular momentum ...

Hauling too late
Hi everybody!
What happens when a caster hauls too late? Here I am assuming that the casters technique is excellent in all other aspects.
Cheers Thomas
