Re: Why no fly casting in the Olympics?

That’s a great idea. We’d get to meet extreme ironers and tuk tuk polo players. That’s definitely an Olympics I would watch!

Re: Why no fly casting in the Olympics?

I agree Stefano. Not only does it need to be filmed properly but it should be streamed live. There is a fisherman’s internet channel who I’ve been talking to about the flycasting videos on this site. Putting them up in HD. They have expressed an interest in filming this event and streaming it live. ...

Re: \|/ or \\\|/ Push Vs Pull, rotating through the stroke or at the end of the stroke

Hi Phil, I’ve been thinking about this a lot and think it’s an excellent game for here too. 30'/ 24" hoop side arm... 3/5 60'/24" hoop 3/4 .... 3/5 60'/30" hoop backcast....4/5 90'/30" hoop ........4/6 Question. On the second target I assume the casting plane has a 45 degree tilt? My rings are 60cm ...

Re: How do you like your butts?

I don’t think it makes any difference to action. I suppose the only difference is the feel of the grip in your hand. It’s good for the two reasons you mention. Incidentally we have two sizes of Full Wells cork grips - standard and giant, which might suit you. :)

Cheers, Paul

Re: Covid-19’campfire discussion

It’s bizarre to me that some people are more fearful of vaccinations than the disease. As a US friend of mine said “If you believe Covid came from a Chinese laboratory and you don’t get vaccinated would you prefer to trust something that came from a Chinese lab to a German lab?”

Re: Why no fly casting in the Olympics?

I think some sports are only spectator sports because they’re in the Olympics. But I agree; the reason bmx and surfing are in there is to attract a younger wider audience. I don’t think we have ever tried to make flycasting a spectator sport. The best I’ve seen was the Spey casting competition at th...

Re: Why no fly casting in the Olympics?

Maybe we could sneak it in the back door and go break dancing with a fly rod?

Re: bernds social media bashing

I found it interesting. I spend very little time on social media. I post the FPs and occasional photo. Answer a few questions. I never go through Instagram or FB feeds. I know a few people who make their living off social media, but none in FFing. At least not through sponsorship. Many of us get gue...
