Re: Straw Poll on Stepping

I’ve tried stepping with both left and right, whilst being right handed I found the stepping with the left gave longer casts with a stiffer rod (T42) when using the ICSF 38g line, however the accuracy was not good as compared to stepping with the right on the same outfit. Changing the rod to a sligh...

Re: PUALD Challenge

James, Change the settings on the playback to HD1080 and 1/4 speed. Tracy’s body movement has completed before her arms come in to play. The haul could be fraction later to maximise the additional acceleration and increase the line speed. The elongated movement of the casting hand/arm might be over ...

Re: PUALD Challenge

Hi James, After watching Tracy's cast sequence on HD and SlowMo repeatidly. Would it be benficial for Tracy to hold her body position at the end of the backhaul longer, start the casting sequence with her arms and then adding the body movement, effectivley adding the body weight to the cast rather t...

Re: It’s all in the Mind

A focused approach and the ability to relax quickly and effectively. Train as if every session is a final when everything matters. Look for an edge over your competitors, focus on enhancing that edge. Don’t worry about what everyone else is doing concentrate on what you need to achieve. Over focusin...

Re: Casting direction

Even more so for the Salmon Distance (Ev6), I’ve often thought about taking a coffee with me for a half time break 😎

Re: Casting direction

For ICSF ev2 I first started like a caster possessed starting off at 100mph and soon ran out of steam with poor distances. The change has helped and still allowed me to get the results that I’m after.

The lighter weights 5&7 are less stressful on the body.

Re: Casting direction

Hi Paul, I tend to pick an object to make the back cast to (tree or similar) as the basis for any good cast is the back cast. I believe (my theory) is that Adrenalin kicks in, which in turns adds the ‘throwing’ motion which kicks the forward cast to the left a bit, not by much but it’s enough to mak...

Re: Casting direction

When I'm not trying, my casts will go exactly where I want them - straight down the middle. When the pressure is on and my traking goes circular the line will tend to land to the right ny 2-3m, after spotting this and relaxing, going through a breathing cycle to regain composure the cast will go bac...
