Re: Rio Windcutter Spey Line

Hey!

Thanks so much for taking the time to write - is a tip obligatory? Or, is it usable as a floating line - or is that NOT the idea, at all?

Thanks,

Bass

Switch Fly Lines

Hiya,

Can anyone recommend good Switch fly line.

Have #7 & #9 11'3" med-fast rods.

Looking for an allrounder for more traditional spey casts.

Thx,

Rio Windcutter Spey Line

Hey!

Er...I've just bought a reel from Ebay, and it came with a Rio Windcutter 10/11 with a sink tip. (is this likely to be a versitip?)

Rio don't make it any more, I think.

Anyone know anything about it? Any good, and if so - what for :-) ? What's it's current equivavlent?

Many thanks,

Bass

Gentlemen, gentlemen. Please! Point of order!

Please be careful of your language. This is a public forum.

It is NOT a bubble float...it's a 'strike indicator'!

Re: What line for an 11' 3wt?

Well the name “Switch” and the website talking about Spey Lines and fishing streamers for me says it’s a light two handed rod. I don’t know of a specific line but I would be thinking a 5WT(+) line with… 50’(ish) head? But there are a lot of variables in that. Used as a lochstyle single handed rod, ...

Good question!

Not sold as such, but the 11'3" #7 they sell is easy to cast with one hand...not som much the #9 ;-)

So...I'm building this 11'3" #3 as a single hander :-)
