Re: Structuring multiple lessons
The issue…in this thread anyway…is one of lesson sequencing. I think a caster benefits most at the beginning by being able to see their loops front and back. This is, in my view, the best way for them to learn. Once they have learned the basic techniques needed to form a small variety of loops then...

Re: Structuring multiple lessons
Most people don’t need an instruction not to watch. I find that people who are used to watching their back loops will usually lose control over their loops when they don’t watch them. That’s been normal with everyone I’ve encountered. If you are teaching shots I’m surprised you haven’t encountered ...

Re: Structuring multiple lessons
No problem John, it’s easy to talk across each other in forums in a way that you wouldn’t in real life. I’ll usually look or ask about the set up first. Normally the leaders are too short but like Paul, I’ll get them to throw at a couple of targets before I make a change because they may not have th...

Re: Structuring multiple lessons
If is not accurate the caster will not hit the intended target in the forward cast. A quick glance around any fishery will see loads of anglers casting with wide open back loops, usually followed by a tailing forward cast and they will not be sorting it out. Many have been casting like that for dec...

Re: Structuring multiple lessons
I do something similar myself, I don’t make long winded explanations. How do you enforce accuracy on the back cast?

Re: Structuring multiple lessons
Nobody has ever told me not to haul a delivery stroke while I’ve been fishing. If they did I would probably have ignored them
