Re: The Australian Games
Hi Chris Looks like a blast and there are so many potential shots that are applicable. Perhaps you could consider including an inverted cast for spooky fish that doesn't land past the fish. The limbo is also applicable to spooky fish who can take off when they see the fly coming in from a higher tr...

Re: 2025 US Open
Fantastic variety of casting to be had at this. Would be a great comp to bring a team over to compete. Not that we have a huge casting scene here with casters lining up for O/S comps but there are a handful. It’s a long and expensive trip to make from Australia, worth it though and would be a great ...

Re: The Australian Games
Yes of course. I was going to have the others set at variable distances to keep it interesting so no reason not to do the same here. Right, that’s 4 casts locked in.John Waters wrote: ↑Tue Dec 19, 2023 5:11 am You can make the distances variable Chris, it’s the pickup and shoot with accuracy that is the challenge.

Re: The Australian Games
Hi Chris, For Bellarine saltwater anglers, perhaps a single pickup, backcast and and shoot to the Arenburg target at say 20 metres from the caster. Caster has picks up a start line length of say 15 metres. Maybe? John That could be an interesting one John, we’ll have to mess around with that a litt...

Re: The Australian Games
Great initiative Chris, John Cheers John, Ron and Westy certainly enjoyed it last night. Something they didn’t just nail first cast or every cast so a nice new challenge for them. Now to work on the other 7. Curve casts will be one, possibly 2 and I’d like to have a bow and arrow cast amongst the m...

Re: The Australian Games
Looks like fun! I agree on the fly retrieved to fish spooked scenario of course. Also an option for curved casts depending on your position! Great to see some variety!! Cheers, Paul Thanks Paul, Trying this in the hope it gets some younger anglers interested in casting. I’ll be taking it to a local...

Re: The Australian Games
George, thanks for the feedback. Many ways to skin a cat. For this tailing scenario I’m thinking carp. The cast is made past as a direct hit would spook them like a kid brushing up against seaweed in the surf. Fly lands and is dragged quickly across the surface until directly above the strike zone a...

The Australian Games
Currently working on a casting obstacle course similar in concept to the Danish games but with some of the gear and casts we use across Australia. Spent the afternoon messing about with 3 of the 10 casts, The Tailer, The Cruiser and The Overhang (like the danish games “Limbo”). With the trailer and ...
