Casting a heavy line with a small versus a big fly

Maybe the fly provides lift, lifting the heavy line like a small bird picking up a large stick and flying off... :glare:

Merlin, help !!

Casting a heavy line with a small versus a big fly

Agreeing with Lasse here...

The big fly is an 'energy suck'. The fly's attributes finish the system as designed - a balancing act.

It's the tail on the kite, or kite on the tail... :D

Casting a heavy line with a small versus a big fly

Thomas, I have noticed similar when casting a Sci Angler Anadro line - not as aggressive as your Pike taper, but with similar intend. Scaled down probably best describes it. It has some extra wgt. that is pushed upfront. I was fishing gurglers with it for Sea char in Greenland - Fantastic choice for...

Examination feedback

Paul, Smartphone photo of exam pages is fine by me, as is a printed copy, as long things are legible - often in my case not :p I have always at a later date sent the non-pass candidate a review - either a reworked, cleaned up version of my pages or a thorough outline of notes. Non-pass candidates de...

Bart,

As Lasse noted, sadly it does.

Confidence comes with practiced skill presentation, and then fun kicks in < those go a long way in having an audience remain engaged.

Have fun Simon - take time to smile during your presentation.

Hi Simon,

Do not use your time to criticize other teachers/instructors; use your time to put forth your positive thoughts
on a matter of casting/fishing.

It bores the shit out of me when a demonstrator gets up on the platform and starts off with going negative on another instructor.

Examination feedback

Lasse, I was at the first EDP meeting in Long Beach 2013, where the program was introduced, and there I participated in discussion on many points of the program. I found the resistance to any critique/suggestions astonishing. Even the name of the program is BS: Examiner Development Pathway. A name s...

Examination feedback

Usually when candidates say why they failed, its just one thing they mention, though failing one task isn't enough.. Its been in effect for years now, that a candidate has the right to go through the full test, even if they fail early on. Cheers Lasse Yep, several tasks go code red when loops conti...

I found it odd (at best... ) a couple of things about that article: 1) The in your face attitude towards Aitor. Why? Why not a friendly tone that invites discussion. Pissing on bead chains as they did just makes them rusty... 2) That their studies were not documented within the article. Cl...
