Hello from Cape Cod

Hi George,
I used to do a fair amount of fishing on the Cape and I know quite a few people over there.

Maybe we bumped into each other some time.

I am an Englishman who lives in Germany. I am a good friend of Juro Makai.

It's good to see you on here.

SEXYLOOPS 20 YRS ANNIVERSARY MEET 22nd Sept 2018

As with all international events, proximity to an international airport is a good idea if you want to attract people other than the locals.
I can remember that the place in Scotland was a 3 Hour drive from Edinburgh airport.

Thoughts on jazzing up the Board?

One reason why the board has lost traffic is that a lot of discussions are taking place on Facebook and not on the board. Also since SL has become a manufacturer/supplier of fishing tackle some people have just disappeared. The discussions these days are almost limited to high level casting issues. ...

AFFTA line standard

Interesting topic. You guys assume that there can only be variation on line weights. Not being a rocket scientist or even being able to understand the manufacturing process I would assume that the rod manufacturers can also not be relied upon in terms of always making all "5wts" identical. Is there ...

Small flies - big salmon

Hi Andy
I can't tie small flies so I buy them.
I have used Salar flies and Fishingflies.is

It looks like the really small flies are only available as trebles whereas the doubles only go down to #14.

Small flies - big salmon

I have fished for salmon a number of times in Iceland.
On some rivers small flies work very well but on larger rivers like the Rangas big heavy flies are needed.

I have used flies down to size 20 on the Nordura, Langa,Kjos.

In Canada around Gaspé small flies have proved successful on many rivers.

Colours as the sun sets

I think the title of the thread is a little misleading. As the sun sets then there is more red light. However when it is cloudy a lot of the red spectrum is absorbed by the clouds. Water, in general, absorbs more of the red end of the spectrum than the blue end. Which explains why very clear water a...
