Re: Line configuration affect on rod
Aitor’s video of avoiding the tail (or depending on definitions, extreme dangling end) was possible because he allowed the line to fall into place, creating a waypoint. There are three ways. One is to do that, the other is to cast it there using trajectories and the third is to make a Belgian Cast....

Re: Line configuration affect on rod
IMO we are not casting the rod, we are casting the line. Different line taper and mass distributions, over different lengths, will feel and behave quite differently. That’s going to have an effect on how the rod bends; place all the weight next to the rod tip and the rod will flex more than if we s...

Re: Line configuration affect on rod
Hi Vinny
Rods don't care, casters do.
35 feet and 50 feet, if they weigh the same, also have to be equally straightish in the air to give similar feedback. Rarely that happens. The shorter the head the more of the weight is usually at the casters disposal. Hence the difference in feel.
Cheers

Re: Unproven
When is a pattern a new pattern? Adding a different colour hacke to a woolly bugger, is that a new pattern? There's a ton of grey area, and apperantly some very strict rules, where the only penalty is outing on the net... Gary, if the fly is big and brown and looks crippled, it will probably work fo...
