Re: Stripping basket for kayak

Lou, I'll back Lasse's suggestion. I have a few of the FlexiStrippers, and it's a very nice product. I use them in my kayak, float tube and an adapted version on my pontoon boat. I also occasionally use it when fishing rivers using shooting heads. It's very easy to position/mount it in different way...

Cuppa? Tea or coffee? It'll have a bearing on my decision to buy or not :-).

Re: Progressive rod?

I'm with you, Bart! The above definition is the one I've always heard, which makes every rod progressive as I've yet to try a rod that doesn't bend more and more, the more I "load" it. Now put "load" in your pipe and smoke it :-).

Re: old fashioned

Exquisite tying! I have Greenwell's in the box as well, and I love fishing them.
It's quite difficult getting the fly just right in terms of scruffiness, in a pattern that doesn't really lend itself well to scruffiness, unless you get the wings just right (or maybe just a little bit wrong?).

Re: TH or DHD?

I couldn't agree more, Magnus - and grumpiness is not only allowed or expected - it's called for. And I was recently told that once you're past 40, you're allowed to be grumpy, which means I've missed several years of grumpiness. I've absolutely no idea why "they" had to invent a "trout spey rating"...

Jeeez, T.Z - don't blame me... If you did what I told you, you'd have Nikon :-).
