Re: Using Video while teaching
Question: How do you set things up to get the best contrast where you can see the line? We don't have any big blue walls around here.
Re: FFI CBOG
Just read this. Yeah, a lot of terms expire this year. Hopefully Molly stays on. Meeting people where they are is important, physically, financially, skill-wise .... We just were talking about that on our CCI candidates Zoom meeting last night. Hopefully the incoming BoGs will be more sensible and m...

Re: Claiming casts, techniques and flies!
Why? Ego. Or maybe they can't remember (or never knew) who actually DID create the [fly, cast, technique]. We know that in Maslow's hierarchy, we all want to feel esteemed in our tribe. For some, if they can't do it legitimately they'll try for it illegitimately. What's ironic is that, when the trut...

Re: The evolution of Catch and Release
Harps, I love your 'avatar'. Says it all. :) Paul, the pic of that brown is gorgeous! Thank gawd the grip n' grin is dying out. Who needs it when there are such beautiful shots of fish in the water or dripping wet. Your approach of "these are the rules of the lake/river" or "these are the rules of m...

Re: The evolution of Catch and Release
I've only been fly fishing 15 years, but in Colorado, it wasn't much of a thing when I started. It was out there, but there weren't any guidelines about the best way to do it, and not as many people doing it. Now C&R is more prevalent, which is fortunate because Colorado has seen a huge increase in ...

Re: Accuracy
Should one practice with a variety of targets then when studying for the CCI? I ask because I don't know if we'll be on the water with rings or on the lawn with cones. That is, IF there even IS an exam in September. That's still up in the air.

Re: Statements that make you go Hmmm? #1
This is such a good post that I've read it all the way through, although I had to reread Merlin's initial post and completely bypassed the posts with equations. I have some thoughts, albeit possibly erroneous, and a question. When making the "hard stop," one is supposedly accelerating up to the poin...
Re: Grips?
Hi, Nicholas. In watching my tracking last night very closely, trying to ensure my thumb is always pointing directly back, I saw some very minor deviations that show up at the end of the loop unrolling on casts >40 feet/12.2 meters (could also be the nagging wind here). It affects accuracy for sure....

Re: Sexyloops Navigation
What an awesome idea! It would make it easier to find topics. You might not even have to answer the same question 5,829 times.
