I don't know about fighting the fish hard and short. Once I hooked up a mack tuna about 7 to 9 kg, using 10kg leader locked up to breaking point. Paul you mean the front windscreen is tinted?
Its illegal to tint the front except the top section as sun visor which comes with the car anyway.

By the way check this popper heads they are 15mm wide. 8mm thick 190 in a box for 5 aus. dollars.

I used to do the same Paul when I was fishing for cod.
In fresh water the water condition changes so much, some days it feels like a thick soup, so you have to adjust the floatation to suit.
