Lou,
These are the results of a test I did a while back - Sage TCX #5, #7 & #10 all cast on the same day with a MED #5 line. I'll let you draw your own conclusions.

Re: #10 line recommendation
Anyone else want to crowd fund a saltwater version of SA’s MED? SA Amplitude lines are far and away the best on the market, no one else even comes close in my opinion. But the 51’ Infinity head is too short and front taper far too abrupt. I do like the new Bonefish Plus line, same 50’ head length b...

Re: #10 line recommendation
It may be a bad batch. They did have some quality control issues a few years ago. Maybe they are back? I think the issue is the super smooth monofilament core that they use. Anyone with some knowledge of materials science will tell you that adhering anything to a smooth surface is problematic. Inci...

Re: #10 line recommendation
I just thought I'd add to this - Rio saltwater fly lines are shite! Having spent a stupid amount of money on plastic strings it turns out that the adhesion to the core is abysmal, thus the coatings on my lines, after only one trip, are sliding up and down on the cores. The core itself is smooth mono...

Define the '170'
I think if there's one cast that is widely mis-understood in terms of its definition then it's the '170'. I don't think I've ever read a definitive description of what this cast is. As such, I think there's a lot of confusion surrounding this cast. In fact I'd go as far to say as very, very few peop...

Re: ICSF WC Flycasting Sweden 2024
James, Who do you want to revolt against? Is it: • The few volunteers who are donating their time and effort to organize the tournaments so that we can have fun? • The host association that are spending their human and financial resources on organizing the tournaments so that we caan have fun? • Or...

Re: ICSF WC Flycasting Sweden 2024
Looks like we may have the green shoots of change; the peasants are revolting! The ICSF do not have any protection with regards to the words 'world championship or world champion'. As such, any group can set up a WCs and, so long as it's supported within the eyes of those competing in casting sport,...
